The Focus ST & Jaguar XFR play Sweeney at Goodwood FoS
The new Ford Focus ST and the 2012 Jaguar XFR are to take to the Goodwood hillclimb to recreate the Sweeney car chase. It’s been the ‘launch’ of the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed this week, so we’ve has bits of information floating in, like the Mercedes cars- ancient and modern – making an outing, the new Bentley V8 blatting up the hillclimb and the Jaguar XFR getting the prize for the ‘Most Spirited Getaway’ at the start of the hillclimb. But one little outing caught our eye – the re-creation of the scenes from the new Sweeney film with the Jaguar XFR and the new Focus ST.
CAR publishes its Performance Car of the Year 2010 supplement this week. It's a 36-page standalone mag charting our 2500-mile European road trip to thrash out which is the best sports car of the year. We'll have a full microsite launching later in the week, video, competitions and more - plus we'll upload a gallery every day with some of the out-takes, extra photos and background to our PCOTY road trip.

In a somewhat surreal event, we caught up with David Coulthard at Goodwood circuit this week and put the best of your questions to the former Red Bull racer. Why was it surreal? Well, the Scot was hammering around the circuit in Volkswagen’s Caddy racer – a front-drive turbodiesel van that completes in the Volkswagewn Racing Cup championships.
